Music o' the Entry: "Ormus", Xenosaga

No, unfortunately, I do NOT have the Xenosaga soundtrack yet, I don't even think it has shipped yet; Matt and I have pretty much ascertained that this is because Guilty Gear X Heavy Rock Tracks isn't as easy to get one's grimy meathooks on as the Xenosaga OST, as GGX was released a year ago (on my birthday, incidentally) and Xenosaga was released four days ago....oh well, when it does ship, I know it'll come quickly, mucho gracias EMS and the large amount of cash I paid for it.

Not so great news, children-recently my health has been chronically, quasi-inexplicably not good, meaning worse than usual, to where my mother is worrying, and seems to be contemplating doing what I did several years ago, in that final year of junior high/freshman year of high school I spent half in class, a couple of which I failed or very nearly did, and half being shuttled between various specialists. I don't know how many specialists she has in mind, but certainly my gastro and will more than likely request a biopsy, as I haven't had in ones in several years, if memory serves me correctly. I suppose it could be nice to know what's going on down in the magical highly acidic land of my self-destructive stomach, it's just that biopsies aren't something I rank up there on my list of diversions I find pleasing. Certainly, it could be a lot worse, there are other things I'd much less do-go to the dentist (yes, I prefer quasi-invasive medical procedures over a simple dental visit. Phobias are fun.), have a tilt-table test, get lots of blood taken when blood sugar levels are low and ulcer is destroying my soul, hovering precariously above insulin shock-level blood sugar levels...I'm sure y'all get the point. Still, I'm not so sure I want it; all the specialists, I mean. Personally, I think my mother's grossly overreacting, I'm probably just getting the flu or something, and I'm thinking about taking this time to exercise some of my newly-found (sort of) legal adult rights-for one, they cannot force medical treatment on me any longer (there's a reason for why I phrase it like that, highly detrimental medical "treatment" has been forced on me in the past), hence I don't have to do anything if I don't want to. However, if I choose to take this route, I'm sure my mother will be quick as she always is to label me "self-destructive"...yarg. This wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't that finals are looming over me, the week after this, and I simply can't afford to miss class very much. Blah. Oh well, despite what happens, I will survive...

REJOICE with me my children, for I did what I said I would and I am once again in possession of all of my Chrono (Trigger/'99/Cross) CD's, Malice Mizer's "Bara no Seidou", my They Might Be Giants CD, a number of other CD's, plus all four of my game music piano books. Indeed, I finally got a hold of Nathan by calling at 9:00 from school and then went and picked up my crap that evening. Indeed, driving home was a very Malice Mizerish experience, gleefully so.

Oh, did I talk about watching Kubrick's "2001" with Matt? Probably not, so I will now; excellent film, and one of the strangest I've ever watched by far...this is the probably the first film I've watched in which space had no background music, it was silent as space is, which definitely helped with the atmosphere. Then there's that there's no speaking for the first 40 or so minutes of the movie...the plot itself was interesting (I'm a fan of Arthur C. Clarke), and the end was just one big quasi-incomprehensible acid trip. Which leads into Matt and I's activity of yesterday-renting and watching "2010", the direct sequel. Regretfully, it's more normal than 2001 (which isn't all that difficult to do at times), but still a strange film, and equally incomprehensible. Matt explained it more to me, as he's read the books, but still a bit confusing; I may have to read them myself, I ever have the bloody time to do such a thing. But yes, good, interesting movie nonetheless, just make sure you watch "2001" before or you'll lose much of the effect of the second film. Kinda made me want to watch more Kubrick films, the guy was nuts, but in a good way. Does anyone else have any weird film recommendations for me? I'm not that much of a movie fiend, there's rarely any film I'm utterly adamant about seeing. I do go see movies often enough, but generally speaking I enjoy more being with my friends than seeing the movie itself. It's always fun when people ask me what my favourite movie, as I don't really have one...

Watched some of the most awesome stuff in the history of mankind last night: local access cable TV. Highlights included Tadashi Station, which was mainly about the dinosaur drawing of the day, included uber-choppy stop-motion plastic Godzilla animation, and all sorts of goofy stuff that made the entire thing completely incomprehensible and smashing. Following that the Keystone Astronomers came on, who sang their own theme song and talked about astronomy and the time before pants were invented, among other things. Yes, local access cable TV rocks my world in a major way. Heck, Matt and I even discussed getting our own local access cable show, imagine the insanity...

I've been reading some interesting books as of late; currently, "Fingerprints of the Gods" by some guy whose last name is "Graham" (I'm too lazy to go see his full name currently), which investigates the possibility of an early advanced civilization on Earth, taking into account all sorts of strange things from around the globe. No, this is not fiction, and I find it wildly fascinating; I've always been the sort prone to fancy, so naturally I dig this in a grand fashion. I'm still in the beginning sections, dealing primarily with South American anomalies, such as the Nazca lines, Macchu Picchu (I just know I'm misspelling that), Lake Titicaca, Tihuanaco...and this is only the beginng. Quite some compelling and interesting stuff in there, like the Viracochas...actually, reading this is allowing me to place many Lovecraftian references (fish or scaled-hybrid folk are a common theme in Lovecraft's work, then you have the whole elder god Cthulhu-type fun)...also, by the way, is it just me, or are the Wizards/Mindflares/etc (basically squid-head folk) from the Final Fantasy series Cthulhu-inspired? Oy, I need to stop reading. Ah well, I need to run, rather hungry for once, so I'll write more hopefully sometime this week: たくさんしゅくだいがありますよ (so sue me, I *LIKE* writing formal), later...
